Album Review: Khan – “Monsoons” 8/10 (Stoner/Prog)

Here I am, fumbling through the digital ether of Spotify again. Another day at work, another familiar album, another podcast. Tap, skip, scroll, skip, scroll. Then my little eye spies a dreary sky, with, wait, what is that? A melting planet amongst the clouds? Yup, sign me up. Tap. Doom might have started in the UK but these guys are all proving that it could finish in Poland. I’ve been pretty vocal about my love of Spaceslug for over a year now so I am pretty excited about this new track from them and getting to know the other bands a bit better. It’s a really great showcase for the current state of doom which is more alive than ever. […]

Album Review: Ruff Majik – Tarn 9 (Stoner Doom)

South African garage doom? fuck yeah. Ruff Majik embody the stoner sound with such reverie and mastery. I’ve described it a million times now, we all know what stoner doom sounds like. Sometimes it’s slow and bassy, then sometimes it’s fast and bassy. Sometimes it’s average, and every now and then something awesome like this comes along. […]
