Written by Kep Six months of 2022 are down for the count and lots of great metal has already hit our ears. Below are my top 10 album of the first half of the year, […]

Written by Melinda This is a long running and consistently high quality band that has an impressive output rate, the result of which will either have you thoroughly impressed or completely indifferent but I do […]

I am a weird kind of Cannibal Corpse fan, in that most fans will know more about the band as a whole than I do, but I’ve also spent half my life listening to Cannibal Corpse. However, I primarily listen to Bloodthirst and have for a long time. It’s exactly what I want from the band, perfectly summed up in one album and so it hits the spot every time, why move on? Violence Unimagined is one good reason to move on and marks the beginning of an exciting decade for the band. […]
Formed in Dublin back in 2013, Dread Sovereign has been around for a while but never caught my attention. Their first two albums were released on Ván Records but ALCHEMICAL WARFARE is their first to be released on Metal Blade Records. I was looking through the selection of promos last week and I decided I would take a chance on Dread Sovereign’s latest release, ALCHEMICAL WARFARE. I say “taking a chance” because the description said something like “Classic Doom mixed in with some Venom”. Personally, I am not a fan of Venom, and as for Doom Metal, my tastes lean more toward the Funeral, Blackened, and Death/Doom variety. […]
I’m very glad to have had the chance to chat with Trevor from The Black Dahlia Murder about their upcoming album Verminous, coming out April 17th. I don’t have to introduce The Black Dahlia Murder do I? They’re one of the few bands who headline with older bands under them. They’re titans in the metal scene and they’re back with some quality fucking death metal. We discuss the artwork, we discuss lyric writing and we discuss his Twitch Stream too which can be found right here. […]
Do you like overt lyrics about secret society chanted over meldo death? Do you like the rhythm elements of Rivers Of Nihil minus the progressive flair? Then say no more, I’ve got you covered with the new God Dethroned. It constantly switches between being really heavy and being a bit limp. At its peak it works these two sides together to make a dramatic record. Not necessarily a very good one. […]
Alright! Been excited for this one. The first single that dropped for “Very Noise” with the weird ass video was a strategic move on the part of Igorrr as it was very much a track that was hard to decipher and didn’t give much away, being purely a noise orientated and atmospheric piece with a bit of a technical guitar melody at the end. The opening of Spirituality and Distortion however, assures us of the heavy, more metal aspect of the Igorrr sound. Mixed in various ways with contrasting genre elements, naturally. […]
