If you’re like me, and maybe the new Napalm Death record left you a little underwhelmed, I have just the thing for you! Venomous Concept is a long running grindcore supergroup that features members of Napalm Death, Brutal Truth, Brujeria, and more. This here is their 4th record since forming in 2003, and goddamn it is not one to be missed!

I haven’t covered much grind on the site at all, but this has fallen so far under the radar that it’s shocking, I’ve seen nobody else mention this, and for a project with such high profile members that is very bizarre to me. This is straight up blasting grindcore from start to finish. No filler, no bullshit.

The first thing you’re gonna notice are the very distinct vocals of Kevin Sharp. His screams are raw as hell and he has a tone all of his own, but at the same time, he has this voice that’s sort of classic and familiar to the grindcore genre.

The instrumentals absolutely fucking shred dude. As I said before, the guys are laying down a no frills grindcore rager, and they’re doing that amazingly. The guitar tone is so mean and ugly as it tears through each track with that deep rumbling bass behind it. The drums are ferocious too, the ruthless blastbeats are enough to satisfy any grind fan.

This is just an all around badass release. Definitely underhyped. It might end up being one of my favorite grind albums of the year!
