Album Review: Ingested – Where Only Gods May Tread 8 (Brutal Death)

Ingested are a band I’ve been following for a couple of years now, I’ve seen them grow from a grotesque little slam band to a more matured brutal death metal band. This transition was set in stone with their solid as hell 2018 record The Level Above Human. Last year they released a dark, cryptic little EP titled Call Of The Void, which even further perplexed me as to what their next move would be. I can confidently say this new album solidifies their place in the death metal scene and makes it abundantly clear why they’ve become so popular in recent years. […]

Album Review: City of Souls – Synaesthesia 8 (Prog Metal)

City of Souls are a 6 piece progressive metal band formed in Auckland, NZ in 2015. The members are previously from well known bands (Blindspott, New Way Home, Cold by Winter, In Dread Response and Solstate) in the NZ hardcore and metal scene. They have been steadily dropping strong singles since forming, revealing a sound that is altogether heavier, deeper and more emotional than previous projects. […]

Album Review: Warkings – Revenge 8.4 (Power Metal)

A legion of 4+1 warriors of various lands (and times!) have invaded the metal scene for the second time. This time to have their Revenge upon the adversary. […]

Witnesses is a doom metal solo project that recently dropped their new record Doom II, which you might remember me reviewing a little while back. The record really struck me, so I’m very pleased to have the opportunity to ask the man behind the music some questions! Make sure to check out Doom II if you’ve yet to! […]

Album Review: The Acacia Strain – Slow Decay 8.6 (Deathcore)

The Acacia Strain are a deathcore band that have staked their career on making some of the most bleak, negative, and skull smashing music of all time. They also happen to have been one of the bands that got me into heavy music. They’re one of my favorite bands, and their 2014 effort Coma Witch is easily one of my favorite albums of all time. These guys have been around since 2001, and to see them still going so strong to this day does warm my heart. Needless to say, this was one of my most anticipated albums of the year. […]
